Safeway Deals - 10/7-13

I really need to do some good grocery shopping.  The fridge is getting bare and the hubster is getting angry...  I just haven't been too pleased with the grocery store sales for the past few weeks, so I keep putting off my shopping :)  I know when I cave and do a whammie of a shopping trip, Harris Teeter will finally run a super double coupon deal.  Here are what I think are the "bests" for Safeway this week...

Safeway Tag & Save Contest

So there is this interesting new contest at Safeway that I read about over at Money Wise Moms today.  If you live in the DC Metro or Baltimore Metro areas, visit the customer service desk of your Safeway and ask for one of the above pictured "Tag & Save" decals.  The decal goes in the back window of your car.  Vans from 2 radio stations - Baltimore's Magic 95.9 and DC's Mix 107.3 - will be driving around to one Safeway store each day between 9/12 and 9/18 and they will choose someone to win a $1000 Safeway gift card!  HERE are the official rules, and of course you can listen to the radio stations to hear about how to get spotted. 

You can so bet that I will be up at Safeway tomorrow morning to get my decal!!  I am up there at least once a day, so if they're going to be in my area I'd say my chances are pretty good.  Good luck!!!!

The Safeway sale ad has a bunch of coupons in it this week, so make sure you grab one next time you are at Safeway - BEFORE you start your shopping, so you can use the coupons while you're there!

Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream - Sale at Safeway

OK, so I stumbled upon the most beautiful sale at Safeway today for Ben & Jerry's ice cream.  Here's the deal - Normally this is 2 for $7 and I very rarely ever pay that much unless I really, really need it.  However, if you purchase 3 or more you only pay $1.99 each!!!  Yummy fabulosity!  I am guessing that this deal is good for today thru next Tuesday because their sales usually run Wed - Tues, but I will update this if I find out anything different.

Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to go wallow in some Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream :)

Grocery Sale Ads out today

For those of you that don't know, the grocery store sale ads come out in the Wednesday paper.  I'm not a big sale ad shopper for my groceries, but if I see something that I think is a really good deal I will definitely go for it.  NOTE:  Even though the ads come out on Wednesday, different stores start their sales on different dates so be sure to check that when you're going thru the ads.

Here are my favorite deals this week...

SAFEWAY (8/6  - 9/1 Don't forget your club card - you need it to get their sale prices)

• There is a coupon in the sale ad for a $30 gift card when you transfer a prescription to Safeway.  RUN to Safeway and grab one of the sale ads while they're out (you can usually find them right inside the door).  Get it soon because Safeway usually puts out 2 sale ads during the week - one on Wednesday and one for the weekend.  This is an awesome deal - and remember, you can use this coupon at CVS too since they accept competitor coupons!

• Fresh Express bagged salad $1 each
• Oscar Meyer basic Lunchables $0.99 (I'm going to have to stock up for the first week of school!)
