This one is definitely blogworthy...  Click over HERE to print up your coupon good for $5 off ANY purchase at Hallmark.  The link will allow you to print the coupon 2 times per computer.  I printed 2 from mine & 2 from my hubby's computer.  I stopped by Hallmark today and did 4 separate transactions and spent a grand total of about $7.  Here's a list of what I got...  2 Godiva milk chocolate caramel bars, 2 Godiva dark chocolate caramel sticks, a small holiday plate with spreader, and an adorable little book full of 'coupons' you give to your kids to reward them for good behavior (good behavior seems to be at an all time LOW in my house these days andthe Santa threat doesn't seem to be working!!).  There were quite a few items around the store in the $5-8 range... have fun!!

Earn $40 Savings Pass from 1800Flowers

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Are you a member of 1-800-Flowers Fresh Rewards program?  If not, you should sign up asap!  They are currently offering a "get paid to get organized" incentive.  All you have to do is log into your account (or create a new account) and set up 10 or more reminders in your calendar.  They are giving 40 reward points for the first 10 reminders that you ad -- this adds up to a total of 400 points, which equals $40 in Fresh Rewards to be used towards your next purchase!!!

Please note that it will take a while for the points to show up on your account.  I have inquired because mine aren't showing up yet and I was told that it willl probably take 2-3 weeks (it's already been a week and a half - I was waiting to make sure this program works before I posted it).  I believe after you set up the reminders, the points are added some time during the first 10 days of the following month.  Once your points are added, your savings pass will be sent to your email (so make sure you use a valid email address that you check!!!).

If you didn't already know, 1-800-Flowers now has a separate section of their website titled "1-800-Baskets".  They have some really nice items like gourmet candy apples!  Between both parts of the site there are many items $20 and under.  I hope to be able to split up my $40 and send 2 nice gifts!!!

INSANE Target Deals!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
So yesterday, I saw these deals posted over at My Frugal Adventures and I had to get out and see if I could find them today.  Sure enough I did, so get your coupons printed and get them while you can!
Up & Up baby wipes (Target brand, 72 ct., pop-up tub) $1.29
- $1 Target Printable HERE
= $0.29 each!!!
*I got 4 tubs and will probably go back for more because my kids teachers are using these to clean desks and tables because the antibacterial wipes they were using were interfering with the cleaning products that are being used to prevent spreading of the flu.  I also printed a few extra and gave them to a mom with a very young baby - she was so thankful and it made me feel great :)

Mr. Potato Head Santa Spud $5.99
- $5 printable coupon HERE (click on "toys" on the top left and it will pull to the front of the list - make sure you print the coupon for a Mr. Potato Head "Spud")
= $0.99 each!
*I found these back with the Christmas items.  My kids probably won't be interested, but it's an inexpensive donation to any of the toy drives that will be going on soon.  I'm sure a toddler wouldn't mind playing with a Santa Mr. Potato Head at any time of the year!

Kodak Gallery - FREE $15 gift towards ANY purchase - LIMITED TIME ONLY

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Quick, Kodak Gallery is giving away $15 credits to customers!  This promo is limited to one per person, not one per household like most promos...  I did one under my name and one under my hubby's name.  Used them both to order photo mugs - one of which will be a Christmas gift for the hubster :)  And all they cost me was $5.99 in shipping each!  SUPER CHEAP!!

Just click HERE and enter your email address.  They will send you an email with your promo code that you enter at check out for $15 off your purchase (if your total is less than $15, it will just take your total down to $0 - this does not cover shipping fees).  Check your email for your expiration date and make sure you use it before it expires!

I'm in a Blogging Funk...

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
OK, so I started on this blogging adventure a while ago.  It actually took me several months to get things ready and actually start telling people about the site......  and now I'm finding myself in a place where I just don't want to blog.  Somehow it has evolved from fun ---> to ---> an obligation - I know, it sounds like a dirty word, doesn't it?

As you may have noticed I haven't been blogging much over the past week. I've had so much more time to spend with my kids and my house has actually been a bit more of a happier place (I know, I know, sounds totally geek, but it's true!).  So now I'm feeling like this blog is sucking my life away - I mean, I was fine before it, right?

You see,  I started doing it all as a fun and easy way to share my money saving ideas with my friends.  Somewhere over the past 2 months this turned into something that I am spending way too much time on.  I mean, I spent time looking up deals before but posting all the info just takes SO much more time.

I'm starting to ramble on here.  Basically what I'm trying to say is I think I need a bit of a break.  I need time to decide what I'm doing, whether I want to put my time into this blog (a lot of time for something that I get nothing in return for except the satisfaction of helping you guys, my most fabulous readers!) and whether I can find a way to strike a balance.  I'm torn over the whole thing.

I will probably continue to post a little - kind of like over the past week, maybe more, maybe less.  I just wanted to let you all know why and what's going on.

Nitey-nite for now :)  Stay frugal, and most of all stay fabulous!!!
xo,
Jen

Safeway Deals - 10/7-13

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
I really need to do some good grocery shopping.  The fridge is getting bare and the hubster is getting angry...  I just haven't been too pleased with the grocery store sales for the past few weeks, so I keep putting off my shopping :)  I know when I cave and do a whammie of a shopping trip, Harris Teeter will finally run a super double coupon deal.  Here are what I think are the "bests" for Safeway this week...
FRI - SUN ONLY...
Ken's Salad Dressing  - $0.99 (limit 4)
80% lean Ground Beef  - $1.49/lb
Kraft Cracker Barrel cheese  - $1.49 (limit 2)

ALL WEEK...
Entemann's Cakes & Pastries  - 2 for $5 (not cheap, but these are usually over $5 each and they never go on sale)

Johnsonville Bratwurst - $3.99
use (1) save $1 on 2 coupon
= $3.49 each when you buy 2

Safeway Ground Turkey  - $1.99/lb

Coupons in sale ad...
Lucerne Large Eggs, 18 ct.  - $0.99
Arm & Hammer Laundry Detergent  - $2.99 (combine with $1 off 1 printable manufacturer coupon and pay only $1.99 - limit 1)

Yes, that's it.  I wish there were more fabulous deals.  Weekly deals for Giant will be posted tomorrow since they don't start until Friday.

Nite-nite!

Harris Teeter this week - 10/7-13

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Here are the best deals I see -- there may be other good deals that I just don't think are that great, so they won't be listed here.  For example, they have their bags of frozen, boneless chicken breasts on sale for BOGO.  I got these before and half of them were freezer burned...  needless to say, I won't be jumping for that deal this week.  Anyway, nothing too fabulous this week.  One of these weeks they will actually do those super double coupons that we are all so patiently (HaHaHaHa) waiting for.  So, here goes...

Strawberries - Buy 1, get 2 FREE

Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice - BOGO
I don't have any coupons for this one, but I'll still grab it because my kids LOVE it and it doesn't go on sale that often.

Pillsbury Grands Biscuits  - BOGO
use (2) $1 off 1 printable coupon (print limit of 2 - I have reached my limit, wahh!)
= price varies

New York Texas Toast - BOGO
use (2) $0.50 off 1 coupons (which will double and give you a total of $2 savings)
= super cheap

Fresh Foods Market Soups  - Buy 2, get 3 FREE
This will make for an easy quick meal.  We will probably use this one for a soccer night - and I can get several different kinds of soup so everyone is happy.

Barber Foods Stuffed Chicken w/Broccoli & Cheese - BOGO
use (2) $1 off 1 coupons

*Please note that for BOGO deals at HT, you can purchase 1 item and it will ring up at the 1/2 off price.  I automatically do my scenarios for a purchase of 2, usually using 2 coupons.  I don't have prices on any items yet because they aren't listed in the paper.  I'll fill them in when I make it over to the store.

All You Magazine

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Have you ever heard of All You Magazine?  I hadn't heard about it until recently...  it's sold exclusively at WalMart or you can order a subscription online at places like amazon.com.  This magazine is FULL of all sorts of coupons.  The cover price is $2.49 per issue, but I know I get more than that out of the coupons I clip from it.

One of the best coupons I got out of this month's issue (shown in the picture)  is a coupon for Rimmel make-up BOGO.  Walgreens has Rimmel make-up on sale this week for buy one, get one free.  So tomorrow I'm taking this coupon over to Walgreens and getting myself 2 FREE items!  Saaa-weeet!

$5 Off Enfamil Coupon

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
There are no more babies in my house, but when there were I remember formula coupons being pretty hard to come by.  Click over to coupons.com HERE to print your $5 off coupon for Enfamil Premium - you can print 2 coupons from each computer you have access to.
Thanks to Marcy at Stretching A Buck!

Nitey-nite - I'm going to bed early again...  So sleepy, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

CVS Deals this week - 10/4-10

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Here's the list of what I think are the best deals at CVS this week.  Remember, you need an ExtraCare card (which you can get for free). Oh, and their super cheap items go pretty quicky so try to get in there early in the week...

Arm & Hammer Detergent - BOGO, price not listed
= not sure right now, but with 2 coupons you'll get a pretty good deal

Secret Deodorant - $2.49
use $1 off 1 coupon (limit 1)
get $1 ECB
= $0.49 after coupon & ECB

Revlon Nail Polish - $3.99
get $3 ECB (limit 6)
= $0.99

Purex Complete 3-in-1 - BOGO, price not advertised
use (2) $1 off 1 coupons
= cheap

Not a lot, but you can bet I'll be there for the nail polish!!  I'm about out of room for any more laundry detergent at the moment :)

FREE Redbox Code - Today ONLY

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Today only, you can use promo code QNGJ7KD to get a free rental.  This code can be used once per credit card, so you can get more than one movie for FREE if you use mutiple cards (makes it easier for the kids to pick a movie if they can each pick out their own!).

Fall Fun in Northern VA

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

My daughter has the most amazing teacher this year!  Not only does she so obviously love teaching and love her kids... but she is so fun and family friendly!  I knew I'd love her when she gave out coupons for BOGO meals at Ruby Tuesday's at back-to-school night :)  So, where am I going with this?  Well, my kids have been bugging me about going to the pumpkin patch and wouldn't you know it - I get an email from Mrs. Fabulous 4th Grade Teacher with all sorts of informtion about fun things to do in the fall in VA!!  And of course I'm going to share this info with you guys!!  Here are your links...

2 More NoVA Restaurants where Kids Eat FREE!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on ,

I just happened to be out doing some shopping this afternoon when the hubster met up with me and suggested we go grab a smoothie from the newly opened Tropical Smoothie Cafe in, uh, is that Bristow or Noksville or Manassas???  Anyway, while I was sipping away on the most amazing smoothie I've ever had (MMMmmmm, I want another one right now!) I noticed that they offer "kids eat free" on Sundays. I believe that for every adult combo purchase you get a FREE kids combo (kids 12 and under only, child must be present).  I know what you're thinking...  they have food too?  Yes, they do and the menu looked amazing!  Healthy stuff at decent prices!  My hubster actually got a flatbread with peanut butter, banana, honey & granola today and he LOVED it (he talked about it all evening).

But wait, there's another...

Salsarita's (which is right near Tropical Smoothie) offers "kids eat free" on both Sunday and Monday! I don't know all of their restrictions, but I do know that you have to purchase an adult combo to get a free kids combo and I believe it's from 3-7pm each day.

From You Friday!!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on , ,
So this is the "first edition" of From You Friday - a posting with ideas and tips shared by you all.  I had a few emails from you guys that weren't necessarily time sensitive, so I've been saving them up for this post.  I hope this post helps encourage you all in your fabulously frugal-ness ;)
First, I got a tip from TIB88 (sorry I don't know your name!!  If you read this feel free to leave a note and take the props that you diserve) about MyKidsEatFree.com.  This is another website that links up to lists of restaurants by area - you can search where you live, where you're going on vacation, places you're going on a day trip...  very handy!

I also got an email from my fabulously fugal friend Perri about Restaurant.com.  On this website, you search by area to see which restaurants near you offer "gift certificates" on their website.  You can purchase their gift certificates for different amounts, only that isn't the amount you pay.  For example, right now you can purchase a $25 certificate for $5 when you use the code SHRIMP (got that code from Coupon Mom).  I recently purchased 4 $50 certificates for a total of $16 - I paid $4 each!  There is one thing you must know before purchasing (I bold this because I did NOT know the first time I purchased from them) - the certificates are good toward the purchase of a meal that is total valued at double the price of your certificate (my $50 certificates are good for $50 off a meal of $100 or more).  You can read their FAQ here.

That's it for this week - if you have anything you'd like to share for next week, please feel free to shoot me an email.

Thanks again TIB88 and Perri!!!

Victoria's Secret $10 off any Bra + FREE panty

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Although I love me some shopping time at Vicki's, I'm not always fond of spending that much money on "under-clothes".  When I find a good coupon for this store it makes for a good day...  So, just click HERE to get a printable coupon for $10 off any bra + a free pair of cotton panties.  The only catch with this coupon is that it's for IN STORES ONLY, not online.

Old Navy update SOON!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

UPDATE - As of right now (7:53pm) there are still over 44k 20% off coupons - this is the best coupon that's left, and there's no minimum purchase.  If you want one, take the 4 stars in the middle section (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom - your pointer will turn into a little hand when over them) and move them to the yellow "4".

The Old Navy coupon site (OldNavyWeekly.com) is currently being updated.... that means new coupons to be posted soon!  Hope they do it before my shows start at 9:00!!

Happy hunting :)

New Printable Coupons

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
Several coupon websites have updated their printable coupons...  Check out RedPlum.com, SmartSource.com and Coupons.com (you can get coupons from Coupons.com on my side bar also).  Remember to scroll thru all of the screens on each webpage to make sure you have all the coupons you want - some are new and some are old.  And don't forget - most coupons can be printed twice from each computer.  If it's a coupon for something you use often you may want to print 2 while you can (and even print 2 more from another computer if you can!).

New Topic - From You Fridays

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
I've been thinking of ways to keep things "new and fresh" on here and I came up with this idea of "From You Fridays".  Each Friday I hope to post things that I got from you guys - my beloved readers <3 XOXO
So, if you have something you'd like me to share just click on the "email me" icon on my sidebar and let me know.  Of course, if the deal is time sensitive I won't wait until Friday to post it.  And I always give a "shout out" to you for the tip - I know, I know, you'll feel famous to get your name on here, right?  ;-)

Sweet dreams loveys!

Harris Teeter Deals - 9/30-10/6

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

OK, so still no super double coupons...... whatever HT!!!  I am busy this week anyway!
And apparantly I'm not impressed with several grocery store sale ads this week.  What the heck??  Good thing I have some food to hold me over until next week.

Game Day Meal
8 pieces of fried chicken
1 lb Potato Sala
1 lb Macaroni Salad
1 Gallon Fresh Foods Market Tea or Lemonade
Total - $7.99

Just because I'm not loving the deals doesn't mean everyone else won't.  So, I'm linking you up to Frugal in Virginia.  Dana has a big run down of their deals for this week.

Here's something that I hope makes you giggle...  My 5 year old passed out in my bed earlier and I just left him there since I'm wrapped up in blogging.  I'm here typing away and I keep hearing him smack his lips and I'm thinking "Did he go to bed really thirsty or something???".  So I finally decide to go over and check on him and he fell asleep with gum in his mouth - and he's chewing it in his sleep!  I grabbed it out of his mouth and he woke up just long enough to give me a dirty look.  Oh well, maybe chewing that sugar free gum in his sleep will make up for the fact that he fell asleep without brushing his teeth tonight!

Safeway Deals - 9/30-10/6

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Safeway ad doesn't look too amazing to me this week.  There are only 3 deals that look good to me.  Maybe more will come up during the week - if so, I'll post them.

Buy 6 Raisin Bran, use 3 $1.50 off 2 printable coupon (you may need to print from 2 computers)
= $0.75 per box

Ball Park Beef Franks  - BOGO
use (1) $1 off 2 coupon
= about $1.75 each

Pillsbury Cake or Brownie Mix  - Buy 2 get 3 FREE

Mamma's gonna be stocking up on some cake and brownie mix :)

Giant's ad this week has 4 coupons good to double any $1 coupon - they have to be combined with a minimum $15 purchase, so I suggest you use all 4 in one trip to get your best deal (unless you shop at Giant often thruout the week and always spend at least $15).  Also, remember Giant doubles coupons up to $0.99 every day.  Here are the best deals I see for this coming week...

Wisk Liquid Laundry Detergent - BOGO
= as low as $2.25 each

Progresso Soup - 10 for $10
combine with $0.50 off 2 coupon
= $0.50 each

Pumpkins 3 for $15 (not sure of their size, but it says "Jack O'Lantern Pumpkins)

Pop Tarts 12 pack - 2 for $5
use (1) $1 off 2 coupon from Sunday paper + Giant coupon doubler from flyer
=$1.50 each

Pillsbury Crescent rolls - 2 for $4
use (1) $1 off 2 printable coupon + Giant coupon doubler from flyer
= $1 each

Pillsbury Toaster Strudel  - 2 for $5
use (2) $1 off 1 printable coupon + (2) Giant coupon doubler fro flyer
= $0.50 each

Coupons are Popping Up EVERYWHERE!

Is it just me or is everyone mailing out coupons lately?  I am loving every minute of it!  The other day I got some fabulous coupons from Safeway - including FREE Safeway Pasta, FREE Safeway Pasta Sauce, FREE SAfeway Jumbo taco shells, a few other $ off coupns and a $5 off $25 purchase coupon!  You guessed right, I am going to stack these coupons together and get some great deals.  Today I got coupons from Giant including $1 off 1 pkg of Keebler Right Bites, FREE Giant baby carrots, FREE Giant mini raisins, $1 off Juicky Juice juice boxes and more.  I guess more and more retailers are realizing that coupons and great deals are what brings in business these days.

This all got me thinking...  if you don't have a customer loyalty card (ie:  Harris Teeter VIC Card, Safeway Club Card, Giant Bonus Card, etc) make sure you get one the next time you're at the grocery store!  If you already have customer loyalty cards, but you haven't received any coupons lately, make sure you go online to verify that your address is correct.  Even if Safeway isn't your favorite store you can still use that $5 off $25 coupon at Harris Teeter or Giant.

Speaking of coupons in the mail - this one was a big suprise - we got a UPS package today and there was a small unlabeled UPS box with our package.  What do you think was in it???  Coupons - online promo code coupns and evena book of manufacturer coupons!  I went thru them and found a few good deals I thought I'd share...
  • Bed Bath & Beyond - first time email subscribers get a 20% off one item in-store savings certificate.  Sign up HERE.
  • Sephora.com - Receive a free Philosophy five-pice Miracle Worker Kit wth any purchase of $25 or more.  Enter code MIRACLEU at checkout.
  • FTD - Save $15 on any purchase.  Just click HERE or call 1-800-send-ftd and metion promo 20800.

New Poll - Please Vote

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
Hey there!  Not much fabulous going on today, but I did post a new poll on my side bar - please vote.  I want to know which stores you shop at to play the "drug store game".  If you haven't heard the term "drug store game" it simply means that you shop using their rewards or rebate programs and get lots of items for FREE or super-cheap.  Why do I want to know?  Well, I am planning an upcoming contest and I am considering a gift card to one of the stores as one of the prizes :)  So if you want a good prize make sure you vote!

Nitey-nite!  Tomorrow is Wednesday, so grocery deals will be posted!

New Printable Coupons

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

Expect to see a few posts like this in the next few days.  A lot of the online coupons websites update their coupons around the end/beginning of the month.  Right now you can check out the new printable Target coupons that are over at afullcup.com.

Afullcup.com also has a really cool feature that I just recently discovered.  If you go to "coupons" on the top of the page and then go down to "printable coupons" you will find a huge database of virtually every printable coupon that you can find online!  You can even search for an item by typing it in the field for "description" - love it, love it, love it!  Check it out HERE, I bet you'll love it too.

Another CVS Deal.... You know I'm always on the look out!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

So my day started off with me having to go pick up my son from school because he has a spot of ringworm on his arm (EWWW!) and then I found out that he can't go back until after having 24 hrs of medicine (lovely, so no school tomorrow either).  Needless to say I had to pay a copay for the doctor and my deductable for his medicine....  BUT, I had a CVS coupon for a $25 gift card with a new or transferred prescription :)  Cha-ching, he-he-he, so now my day was getting a bit better!  So, I searched the sale ad yet again and found this deal that I hadn't even considered....

Buy $25 worth of eligible Proctor & Gamble products and get $10 ECB
There are several things included in this promo, but I decided to go for laundry products.
Tide detergent is on sale for $6
Bounce dryer bars are on sale for $4
Tide stain release is on sale for $4 - I decided not to go with this because there are mixed reviews on tide.com - one lady actually said it made the colors in her clothes fade.

So, here's what I did:
Tide detergent x3 = $18
Bounce dryer bars x2  = $8
Total = $26
used $5 off $25 purchase from taking CVS Flu IQ Quiz I told you about HERE
used (1) $1 off 1 Bounce dryer bar coupon (man I wish I would have cut more out!)
used $6 ECB I had in my wallet from the other day
NEW Total = $14 and I got $10 ECB back, so my net was $4 for all that!!!

Now, there are $1 off Tide coupons out there - I have just been passing them over since I rarely buy Tide because I just refuse to pay more than $2 for detergent (Yes, I'm cheap and I'm proud!).  So, without any ECBs you could used 3 tide coupons for $1 off 1 and 2 Bounce dryer bar coupons for $1 off one - and don't forget that $5 off $25 purchase coupon - and you would only pay $15 and get $10 ECB - putting you at a net of $5, that's $1 each!!!

Have fun with this deal - I'm doing laundry right now ;-)

Drug Store Shopping - My trip 9/27

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on , ,
Today I figured I'd better run out to CVS and Walgreens to grab some deals while things are still in stock.  Here's what I got...

CVS:
Vaseline Int. Care Sheer Infusions Lotion $7.99
6 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - $0.89 each, buy 2 get 1 free = $3.58
- $1.50 Vaseline Int. Care coupon
- (2) BOGO Reese's Cup coupons (savings of $0.89 x 2 = $1.79 total savings)
- $7 ECBs from previous purchases
= grand total of $1.76!!

Walgreens:
*Walgreens will only let you use 1 coupon per item.  They consider RR a coupon, so in order to use coupons and RRs you sometimes have to buy a cheap "filler" item such as a pack of gum to get your best deal.

~Transaction 1~
Vaseline Int. Care Sheer Infusions Lotion $6.99
Robitussin DM to-go 2-pack $2.49
Trident gum $1.29
-$1.50 Vaseline Int. Care coupon
-$4 RR from previous purchase
-$5 RR from previous purchase
=Total $0.65
Earned additional $7 and $2.5 in RRs

~Transaction 2~
Oral B 1-2-3 toothbrush $3
Chap stick green tea $2.99
Herbal Essences Hairspray $2.99
-$1 Herbal Essences coupon
-$7 and $1 RR from previous purchases
= Total $1.28
Earned $2, $3 and $3 RRs

~Transaction 3~
Gillette Fusion Razor $8.99
Halls Soothers $1
Dentek Floss $2
Blue Diamond Almonds, 2 packages, $3.49 (BOGO sale)
-$0.75 Blue Diamond coupon
-$4 Gillette Fusion coupon
-$3 and $3 RR from previous purchases
= Total $4.62
Earned $6, $1 and $2 RRs to use later

All in all, I spent under $7 out of pocket at Walgreens and I have about $15 in RRs left to use on next week's sales (I earned $26.50 in these 3 transactions, but I used some of them today also).  I hope this scenario makes sense to everyone and that it's helping you understand the amazing deals you can get at drug stores when you know how to play the game.  I may go back to Walgreen's tomorrow and use my $6 RR to get another bottle of lotion (and another $6 RR!).  I'm a little OCD about lotion so I need to stock up while I can.  I'll probably get some additionals of other items too :)

*UPDATE - The cashier I got wouldn't accept my coupon (this is getting old people!!!).  The coupon says "Save $1.00 off any ALMAY cosmetic product" - under that it says "Almay smart shade collection" with some pictures.  I figured the pictures were advertising their new line because there's also a picture of their eye make-up remover pads...  Anyway, the dingy cashier said I had to buy something from the smart shade collection to use the coupon.  I'm getting so sick of this that I may actually start emailing manufacturers when I have problems with their coupons.  RIDONKULOUS!!
Reach Toothbrushes (2-4 pk.), Listerine Total Care or Reach Floss, $3.99
Get $1 ECB (limit 3)
use (1) $2 off 1 Listerine coupon
-or- there have been a ton of Reach coupons out lately

You can even pop over to the CVS website, take a quick FLU IQ survey and get a coupon good for $5 off a $25 purchase!  This should help you make some extra $money$ off of the above deals :)
Remember, you must have a CVS Extra Care card to get these deals (free to register for one).  ECBs print with your receipt as "coupons" you can use towards future purchases.

Smooches & Huggies

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

What are "smooches & huggies" you ask...  Well, it's a silly "code" between some of my fabulous girlfriends & me for kisses & hugs.  I usually am extremely goofy & lighthearted on here, but I'm going to get just a tiny bit deep for a moment.  See, it's been a long week - you know, the kind that gets you thinking all sorts of deep thoughts and asking God all kinds of questions.  I've been trying really hard for the last half of the week to just relax and enjoy the little blessings in my life instead of "sweating the small stuff".  Most of us know all too well that life can change in an instant.
So please take a moment over the weekend to just sit back and reflect on all the little (and big) blessings in your life.  Hug your kids a little harder, a little longer.  When your husband/wife starts to pluck your last nerve because of something minor - remember how lucky you are to have true love in your life.  When you talk to your Mom/Dad, don't forget to tell them how much you love them.  Call a friend that you don't get to talk to very much just to check in (I got to be on the receiving end of one of these calls today - miss you Tara!!).  Oh, and don't forget to thank God through the hills and valleys of your life - He's listening and He loves you through all of it!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!  I'm going to enjoy every blessing in mine :)

You all know chocolate makes the world a better place so go and request yours now :)

Giving Back...

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

If you ask me, part of living the fabulous life is giving back to your local community.  For those of you in the Northern VA area, here is an awesome opportunity to give back to our community...
You have probably heard about SERVE - a local organization that works "to address the immediate needs of families and individuals in crisis and offers them the stabilizing support they need to become self sufficient and build a better future."

On Friday, October 23rd from 4-8 pm, Manassas Baptist Church is hosting Empty Bowls to benefit SERVE.  This event costs $15 per adult and $10 per child.  You get to pick a handmade bowl to take home, dinner is served by several local restaurants, and there is live music, face art & raffles. Sounds like a great way to get a fabulous night out and give back to the community at the same time.  Hope to see you there!!

Going Out to Eat? Check this out...

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on ,

So, last night I was thinking about how I really need to put together some sort of list of restaurants where kids can eat free - or that have special deals.  And as fate would have it, today I get an email from my fabulous girlfriend Kathy with this link - a HUGE list of "kids eat free" deals!  This list breaks it down by days of the week and even lists the details of the deal.....  how totally fabulous is that?!?!  I'm SO bookmarking the website so I can check it out before we go out to eat.  The prices for kids meals seems to have been creeping up lately, so when I pay $6-7 for a kids meal and my son only eats 2 french fries I can't help but get annoyed (then my hubster feels obligated to finish the meal and complain about how he is going to get fat - yes, a fun night out to dinner for all!).  If I can go out for a decent dinner, get my kiddos dinners for free and then they only decide that they want to eat a few fries...........  I think I can live with that :)  But I will definitely NOT be telling my hubster that kids eat free at Hooters on Sundays!

*One thing I did notice is that the Mon/Tues deal for Logan's is not posted on the list.

Enjoy, and thanks again Kathy!!!

No Super Doubles at Harris Teeter this week :-(

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
WAAHHHHH :(  So I was totally disappointed when I got my weekly e-VIC email from Harris Teeter this morning.  They are back to their usual coupon deal - double coupons up to 99 cents.  Oh well, fingers are crossed for next week.

More posts to come later about the best deals from todays grocery ads.

I'm coming up Empty Handed today :(

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

OK, OK, so I was really hoping for some fabulous deals to post on here today but I am coming up empty handed.  I've spent WAY too many hours searching online for something great to post so you all won't think I've forgotten how to find a good deal......  and nothing!!!  How completely frustrating!  I guess I picked a great time to go out of town - and to recover from being out of town because I don't seem to have missed much.

I've been keeping an eye out for word on whether Harris Teeter is going to do double coupons up to $1.99 starting tomorrow, but I haven't been able to get confirmation on that either.  I even went there earlier (you know, for one last trip to cash in on triples) and while I was there I tried to pump the cashier for information...  nothing!  I ran into another employee in the parking lot on my way to the car and mentioned "maybe I'll see you all again tomorrow if you double up to $1.99 coupons like you usually do the week after triple coupon week."  She just smiled and gave me a "maybe!".  Guess I'll just have to wait for my morning paper or my weekly HT email, whichever comes first.

Yankee Candles Printable Coupons

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on

HERE is a printable coupon for $1 tarts and votives at Yankee Candle.  These are great to use for holiday teacher gifts so stock up while you can - the coupon is good thru October 4.  There is also a printable coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase - this one is good thru October 17th.

Thanks Deal Seeking Mom!

I'm Back - Trying to Catch Up!

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
I'm back in town and playing catch up!  I will be posting some updates tomorrow since I will be spending most of my night and morning finding some deals for you all.  I have a suspicion that Harris Teeter will be doing double coupons up to $1.99 starting on Wednesday because they usually do that the week after triples, but I'll post something as soon as I'm sure.

Have a great night and I hope to overload you with fabulous deals tomorrow!

No Posts for Next Few Days

Posted by Jen Ehrhardt on
The hubster and I are going out of town Thurs - Sun on a motorcycle trip, so I won't be posting any updates on here until I get back.  I'm going to try to get 1 or 2 more on here before I leave, but just in case.....  wanted y'all to know what's up.  Don't miss me too much ;)  Feel free to mingle over to some of my fellow blogger's sites to look for some deals while I'm gone.
Vroom-Vroom!!!
